FOUND///vintage scrapbook

Last summer I was thrifting while vacationing in historic Williamsburg, Virginia. Five scrapbooks had been dropped off and I noticed the cashier flipping through them. I instantly knew these were a priceless treasure.

She actually refused to sell them to me without talking to her manager and insisted that they are “a part of history.” I was persistent and called the DAV (thrift store) a couple times and went back the next day to get them. I was stoked to have them in my possession!!

I do wonder how much they are worth…. if you have any idea, I’d be curious to know.

Shortly after that vacation I began preparing for my move to Australia and tucked the scrapbooks away. Last month when I was digging through my stuff I came across them. YAY!!! They are in decent shape considering how old they are. It’s so cool as the they are covered page to page with magazine clippings, newspaper comics, poetry postcards. Most of the celebrities are labeled.

I wish the keeper of these journals would have added some personal commentary… now it’s just left to my imagination. Here’s a random list of names… famous people or friends… I have no idea. A google search is needed! haha!

I love the style of the men and women in these books. These pics don’t even touch the amount of content and images glued to the pages!!

What a treasure these books are indeed!!
