FOUND//1920s & 1930s Scrapbook

FOUND//1920s & 1930s Scrapbook

Last summer I was thrifting while vacationing in historic Williamsburg, Virginia. Five scrapbooks had been dropped off and I noticed the cashier flipping through them. I instantly knew these were a priceless treasure.

She actually refused to sell them to me without talking to her manager and insisted that they are “a part of history.” I was persistent and called the DAV (thrift store) a couple times and went back the next day to get them. I was stoked to have them in my possession!!

I do wonder how much they are worth…. if you have any idea, I’d be curious to know.

Vintage Shoes

Vintage Shoes

Summer is here and I wish I could wear these adorable little shoes… BUT they are too small. I bought them to sell on Etsy and they’ve just been sitting around for the past few months. I thought I’d share their cuteness with you. Can’t you just picture them with a little vintage dress?!?

Yoda

This little guy (Yoda) is my roommate’s dog. He’s old and gray and my bud during the day. He just comes in my room and sleeps. I have always claimed to be a “big dog gal” but change is possible and I have a new-found fondness for little pups. Ha!

Vintage Finds

This afternoon I went to Salvation Army and Savers and scored some goods to decorate and organize my room. I’m excited about a fresh look in a new place. Yay! I collect white milk glass, so I can add these vases to the collection. I also adore vintage luggage and mustard yellow… yes, please!  haha. I also love stainless steel open storage, so I dig the bins I found at Salvos! I am sure I’ll share more of the decor process!

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Lynchburg Visit
[A few of the Wyckoff ladies... Michelle, Sam & Moi]

Earlier this week I took a roadtrip down to Lynchburg, Virginia to visit my little sis… we brainstormed her upcoming wedding and did some vintage shopping. Downtown Lynchburg has some great spots… lots of these pics are from an estate auction house. It’s filled with ALL kinds of second hand finds! I got some items for Peacock Manor (my Etsy shop). If you’re like me and have a special love for all things vintage, check out my shop- Peacock Manor. It’s a collection of vintage jewelry, clothes and housewares. I just added more merchandise and still have a pile to or two more, so keep your eyes peeled. I enjoy sharing my finds and making them available to you. Yay!

The teal ceramic peacock is another creation of my great-grandmother. I absolutely LOVE it! Peacocks are kinda my thing…I’ll explain another time, but this shiny peacock is really special to me. And a shout out…to those sexy ladies in the picture…some of my aussie posse. I miss you.

Room Sneek Peak_3

My great-grandmother painted those quail ceramics pictured above. I think they’re quails?!? Anyway, she’s probably where I get my craftiness from… my mom told me my great-grandmother was always takin on new hobbies. Ah, a woman after my own heart. ha.

Vintage Broach

Ever looking for vintage jewelry to repurpose? I always keep my eye out at thrift stores and flea markets for inexpensive costume jewelry to use as embellishments for projects. I just love the bold statement a piece of bling-bling can make. I recently discovered a way to get free or at least uber inexpensive jewelry… (more…)

Vintage Saddle Shoes

Yay for adorable shoes! I have been looking for saddle shoes for the past few months and finally found some my size at a local thrift store. I can’t wait to wear them with skirts and dresses! The shoes pictured above are actually for sale at my vintage shop on Etsy, Peacock Manor. I have lots of goodies to upload in the next week, so keep your eye out.

I hope everyone is staying warm. We got about 30 inches with this snow storm. I can’t wait to go play outside!

Peddler's Market Tin

Peddler's Market Vintage Suitcase

I spent a few weeks back home with my parents in Michigan. I don’t go home often, so it was nice to have an extended visit. A new thrift/antique shop opened in town. Many of the items were over priced, but Pettler’s Market was three floors of vintage goodness and fun to look at. I did manage to find a few items… The super cute vintage suitcase for $2 and some old books and tin for organizing.

I just LOVE the colors of the tin! I have been using similar color palettes for several projects, so now this is a great source of inspiration!
