Sam+Josh Rustic Invitations

The Virginia mountains meet simplistic vintage for this rustic outdoor wedding. Samantha and Josh will be tying the knot on beautiful property in Northern Virgina over Memorial Day Weekend! You may remember their “Framed in Love” Save the Dates I designed a couple months ago. I also took their engagement pics. The wedding decor will be emphasizing nature with rustic elements…should be a-maz-ing!! Granted, I could be bias, because this is my little sister’s wedding we are talking about, but still…

For the invitations, we wanted it to be classy and straight forward, but with a unique spin. I am in love with her colors… blues, greys, browns….you should see the bridesmaids dresses… they are adorable! Introducing the nature elements, I used lots of branches, vines and foliage.

To creatively layout the info in a “user-friendly” way with limited pieces, I decided on making a booklet. The two layers are sewn together over brown rafeta. I wanted to give an imperfect/homemade feel, so I went over the seam a second time. The second page is both the Accommodations and the Response Card. The card is perforated, so guests can easily tear the card and mail back.

Above, is the front on the Response Card. I used a semitransparent vellum envelope to give a sneak peak on the invitation design. I also used a wrap address label, continuing the design.

I designed the couple’s wedding website. I will be sharing more about this design service, but for now here’s a look at theirs. You can see a sliding slideshow of their engagement pics…

Hope you like ‘em! Have a fab night!!
